The Energy-saving Anaerobic Baffled Reactor-Membrane Bioreactor (EABR-MBR) System for High-rise Building Wastewater Recycling

چکیده

Introduction Wastewater from high-rise buildings such as shopping malls or office buildings play important role in generating large volume of wastewater. These buildings have much higher water consumption rate than typical houses. Also, high loading of organic matters and nutrients in wastewater such as nitrogen and phosphorus can deteriorate water quality of aquatic environment together. Up to now, the development of wastewater treatment to remove nutrient at the recent time has focused on decreasing impacts of nitrogen and phosphorus on eutrophication problem. This research aims to develop a new compact EABR-MBR system for carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus removal by incorporating the compact anaerobic baffled zone to membrane bioreactor (MBR) system as a compact energy-saving system. The proposed system has many advantages such as flexible capacity for high organic loading rate wastewater; tolerance to shock load condition and high potential for wastewater recycling from high-rise building.
